Weaving sacred texts with original poetry, ancient and contemporary melodies, and instruments from east and west we will create music that is medicine for the soul, heart, mind and body, invoking our innate connection to each other and to what we call ‘divine’ - love, wisdom and truth.
Please join these two lifelong friends for a one of a kind evening of songs, chants and prayers.
A note from Jai:
'I first met Amir Paiss a few days before the inaugural Shantipi Music and Peace Festival in Israel in June of 1997. Amir was in a fabulous World Music band called Sheva, or 7, because there were seven members. The band brought me and my ‘Pagan Love Trio’ all the way across the oceans to collaborate and create music for this groundbreaking festival. Immediately upon meeting the Sheva family I felt like I had met my ancient tribe and I spent most of the week there singing and crying.
Of all the lovely and super talented members of Sheva I found myself most drawn to Amir Paiss, for his humility, his musicianship, his deep warmth and a very shared sense of self doubt. 😊 Soon we were rejoicing in our very wounded humanness and our passionate longing for the divine through music and song.
Our friendship has only deepened over the years as both our families have grown, and we relish the times that we get to spend together. Amir lives in Australia and will be in Fairfax for this weekend with his beautiful family. Don't miss this opportunity to meet him. '
